All Air Medical Crew members receive rigorous initial training to guarantee the highest standards of care and safety. This thorough training includes comprehensive cross-training for Flight Nurses, Advanced Care Paramedics, and Registered Respiratory Therapists, covering in-house schooling and safety protocols to prepare for the unique challenges of air medical care.

Our pilots receive specialized instruction in flight physiology and techniques designed to minimize the impact of flight on patient conditions, ensuring every mission prioritizes patient well-being. Initial & Ongoing Training For All Employees

Keewatin Air is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and patient care through comprehensive training for all employees. All Air Medical Crew members (RN, ACP, and RRT) receive thorough training upon initial hire, along with recurrent training conducted throughout the year. This training is conducted both online and in-person through provision of didactic learning modules and workshops that focus on critical topics and advanced techniques. Our comprehensive cross-training program for Critical Care Nurses, Advanced Care Paramedics, and Registered Respiratory Therapists ensures that our teams are thoroughly prepared to handle the unique challenges of providing medical care in the air. 

All Air Medical Crew members must possess certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Acute Care of the At-Risk Newborn (ACoRN), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Our medical program ensures the acquisition and maintenance of these certifications.

All Air Medical Crew (AMC) employed by Keewatin Air are required to stay proficient in assessing neonatal, pediatric, and adult conditions through didactic instruction, hands-on skills practice, and competency testing at medically supervised stations. Training related to all patient populations is provided at the time of initial hire and maintained through comprehensive on-line/in-class recurrent training conducted throughout each calendar year.
